Heifer International was started by Dan West in 1944 in an effort to end world hunger. He realized starving people didn't need a cup of milk, they needed a cow. Today Heifer has over 800 projects in more than 50 countries across the globe. Whether it's raising ducks in China or water buffalo in the Philippines Heifer is dedicated to helping people help themselves through sustainable agriculture.
